Taste of Albania (ect1)

Day 1: Arrival-Tirana

Arrival at Mother Theresa airport. Transfer to Tirana. In the afternoon half city tour and sightseeing in Tirana. Visit of National Museum, Scanderbeg Square, residence of Enver Hoxha Albanian dictator etc. Transfer in hotel dinner and overnight.



Day 2: Tirana-Gjirokastra-Saranda

After breakfast transfer to Saranda. Stop to visit of Gjirokastra fortress, open-air theatre, the Obelisk, the Mosque etc. Gjirokastra, the “Town of thousand stairs” is of particular interest for its Architecture. Lunch in the (Blue Eye), natural spot formed by underground water springs. It is fascinating resort, shrouded full of trees where you can feel the fresh air, different kind of Albanian dishes and hospitality service. Transfer in Saranda dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Saranda-Butrint

After breakfast visit the ancient city of Butrint, (first millennium B.C) renewed as an archaeological center when the antiquity and beauty of nature intertwine. Visit to Ksamil peninsula, consisting of three beautiful islands are located. Stop for lunch in the Lekursi Fortress about 750 m up to the level sea when u can find the best Albanian dishes, especially the delicious fish of the sea and a great panoramic view of the Saranda coast. Transfer to Saranda dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Saranda-South Riviera-Vlora

After breakfast, transfer to Vlora through Borsh, Himara, Dhermi. Continue driving along the coast to Saranda enjoying the spectacular views of rugged mountains and the South Albanian Riviera. Various Tourists have referred to it as the “Albanian Pearl”. Stop for lunch in a very attractive place near National Park of Llogara. Transfer to Vlora Dinner and overnight there.

Treasures of Albania (ect2)

Day 1: Arrival-Tirana

Arrival at Mother Theresa Airport. Transfer to Tirana. In the afternoon half city tour and sightseeing in Tirana. Visit of National Museum, Scanderbeg Square, residence of Enver Hoxha ex Albanian dictator etc. Transfer, overnight in Tirana.

Day 2: Tirana-Durres-Berat

After breakfast drive to Durres. Durres is one of the oldest Roman cities in the Mediterranean and the largest sea-port in Albania. Visit one of the largest Roman amphitheatres in the Balkan, the archaeological Museum, Fatih Mosque, famous mosaic “The beauty of Durres” etc. After lunch we drive to Berat, overnight in Berat.

Day 3: Berat-Apollonia-Vlora

After breakfast visit of castle and fort date back 2400 years, the little Church of St. Theodore, Cathedral of St. Nicholas, Bachelors Mosque, The King Mosque etc. After lunch in a traditional restaurant, transfer to the monastery of Ardenica (the church was a Basilica). Transfer to Apollonia, the most important archaeological center in the country. (In Roman times was a large prosperous city near the mouth of Vjosa River. Visit to the monument of Agnothetes, the Library and the Odeon, the House with Mosaics, the museum of Apollonia and the church of St Mary. Transfer to Vlora overnight there.

Day 4: Vlora-South Riviera-Saranda

Morning departure for Saranda via Vlora. Stop in seaside of Vlora town. Continue driving along the coast to Saranda enjoying the spectacular views of rugged mountains and the south Albanian Riviera. Stop for lunch in the Cold water near Borsh village. Transfer in Saranda overnight there.

Day 5: Butrint-Saranda

Morning visit to the Greek and Roman ruins of Butrint, Albania’s most important archaeological site. After visit of Butrint, return to Saranda for lunch in Lekursi castle when you can enjoy fresh fish menu and beautiful panoramic view of Saranda bay. Transfer in Saranda overnight there.

Day 6: Saranda-Gjirokastra-Permet-Korca

Leave Saranda to go to the Museum city of Gjirokastra. Visit its fortress, open-air theatre, the Obelisk, the Mosque etc. Stop for lunch in a traditional restaurant, departure from Gjirokastra to Korca via Permet a very nice road with a beautiful nature with forests and rivers. Transfer in Korca overnight there.

Day 7: Korca-St Naum-Pogradec

Early morning departure from Korca, for a short journey to Pogradec, on the shores of Lake Ohrid. Cross the border into the Macedonian countryside. Stop for lunch in St. Naum. Transfer in Pogradec overnight there.

Day 8: Pogradec-Lin-Elbasan

Departure for Tirana, on the way visit of Lin Village a very interesting place with the 5 th century colourful mosaics. Stop for lunch in Elbasan city a very nice place with a castle built on the 4 th century A.D. by Justinian Emperor. Stop in the Petrela castle for a short time. Transfer in Tirana overnight there.

Day 9: Tirana-Kruja-Lezha

Departure for Kruja, home of Albania’s most important hero, Scanderbeg, who in the 15th century successfully fought off the Turks for over thirty years. Visit of castle, Scanderbeg’s museum and old bazaar. Stop for lunch in a traditional restaurant. Transfer in Shengjin overnight there.

Day 10: Lezha-Shkodra

Early morning departure from Shengjin to Shkodra. Visit of the Rozafa Fortress uncial in the world (Rozafa Ballad) and you will see a panoramic view from the fortress hill where the two rivers Buna and Drini join and form a big delta, visit of Mehmet Pasha Mosque and the Catholic Church. After exploration lunch in a very nice place near Buna River. Transfer in Shkoder overnight there.

Discover Albania (ect4)

Day 1: Arrival-Tirana

Arrival at Rinas AIRPORT, Tirana. Transfer from the airport to Tirana/Durres city. Free time. Dinner at the restaurant. Overnight in Tirana/Durres.

Day 2: Tirana-Shkodra-Lezha-Durres

After breakfast travel to the city of Lezha. Visit to the Scanderbeg tomb, the cathedral of Saint Nicholas etc. There is a hunter’s lodge 7km away from the city. The visitors may enjoy the forest and the big hunting ground of the tourist site. The lodge has a special and original architecture. Travel to Shkodra. Visit to the Rozafa Fortress, the catholic Church etc. An object worthy to be seen is the Mesi Bridge of the Kiri river, 8 km away from the city of Medieval Age. Coming back, lunch at a nice restaurant in Lezha. Transfer to Tirana/Durres. Overnight.

Day 3: Tirana-Durres-Tirana

After breakfast, back to Durresi. Visit to the town Fortress, the Amphitheatre etc. Travel by bus to Kruja. A narrow path, formerly used as a characteristic mediaval bazaar, leads you to the Citadel of Kruja. The Citadel was built by the local population after the invasion of the Goths. It is on a strategic position offering magnificent views to the visitors. Visit to the castle, housing the museum of Gjergj Scanderbeg . Lunch in Kruja. After lunch travel to Tirana.

Day 4: TIrana

Leisure time in Tirana. Lunch in Tirana. In the afternoon visits in National Museum, Scanderbeg Square etc. Dinner. Overnight in Tirana.

Day 5: Tirana-Apollonia-Tirana

After breakfast , travel to Apolonia, located 12km from Fier. It is one of the most well known archeological sites in the country. Visit the amphitheatre and the courtyard of the Monastery where there is a Byzantine style church believed to have been built in the 14 th century. Here you can see some monuments like the Encircling Wall, the Monument of Agonotheve, Odeon, Portic the Mosaic House, Fontana, and the church of Saints Mary. Lunch. Leisure time. Back to Tirana. Overnight in Tirana.

Day 6:Tirana-Berat-Tirana

Departure to Berat city, known as the “city of one thousand windows”. Visit to the castle raised predominantly over the city. Within its walls there are dwelling houses and the “ Onufri Museum”, the paintings of him and his son Nikolla are exhibited there. Visit also to old part of the city where there are some religious buildings like Mosques and Byzantine Churches. Lunch. Trip to Tirana. Overnight in Tirana.

Transfer to Voskopoja, which has been an important economic, cultural and educational centre in the Middle Age. In one of the churches belonging to that period, one depicts the values of mural paintings. Back to Korca. Dinner in restaurant with live music, (serenade) which is typically in the region, can make an unforgettable experience for the tourists. Overnight in Korca.

Day 5: Korca-Tirana

After breakfast, travel to Tirana. Visit the National and Historic Museum, the Exhibition of Folk Culture, the Archeological Museum, the Gallery of Fine Arts. Lunch at a nice restaurant. Free time. Shopping. Dinner. Overnight in Tirana.

Day 1: Arrival-Tirana

Day 2: Tirana-Durres


Breakfast in the hotel. Trip to Durres, which is the most important seaport in Albania and it is an ancient city. Visit to the Amphitheatre, at that time the biggest in the Balkan Peninsula,(capacity 15.000 spectators) with a rare wall mosaic, which belongs the 2 nd century A.D, The Archeological Museum, many mosaics, Ancient public baths etc. Lunch in a nice restaurant. Overnight in Durres.


Day 3: Durres-Zvernec-Vlora

After breakfast travel to Vlora, a coastal city which lies in the Southwestern part if the country. Vlora is one of the major cities of the country and an important seaport and touristic site. Lunch in the city. After lunch, trip to Zvernec Isle, known by its church. There isa Monastery built in the 10 th century A.C which still holds the name “The rest of Saint Mary”. The Monastery is a place with incredible beauty, isolated from the world, perfect to rest and meditate. Back to Vlora. Dinner. Overnight in Vlora.

Day 4: Vlora-Saranda

After breakfast drive to Saranda. Along the seashore to arrive to Saranda you can visit the castle of Porto Palermo. It is also known as the castle of Ali Pashe Tepelena. The walls of the castle are 1.6 m thick. After visiting this castle, the road along the seashore passes many beautiful villages such as Qeparo which is a very large and sunny beach, Borsh which has a sandy sea and the flora is the similar to that of ancient city of Butrint. Visit to the Old Amphitheatre, the Temple of Aesculapius, the Baptistery with colourful mosaics and the ancient historical areas in Mediterranean. Dinner. Overnight in Saranda.

Day 5: Saranda-Gjirokastra-Berat

After breakfast we have the departure to Gjirokastra, which is a “ Museum City”. The characteristic houses resemble the towers and have been built one above the other. They have only one common element, the stone. All the homes have the form of mediaval towers. Visit to the castle which stands out above the city as a balcony, providing the possibility for visitors to enjoy the beautiful landscape. The castle houses the National Museum of Weapons, which preserves all the kinds of weapons used and produced by the Albanians from antiquity. Lunch. Trip to berat. Overnight in Berat.

Day 6: Berat-Tirana

After breakfast, visit to Berat. While you approach the centre of the city you are impressed by the atypical buildings. Visit to the castle, which has been built up on a rocky hill 260m above the sea level. Churches here have survived within its powerful stony walls. With interest is the church, which preserves wooden-engraved iconostatis, houses the “Onufri” Museum. Visit to the other object: Lead Mosque, Bachelor’s Mosque, Gorica bridge and many dwelling houses of the 18 th and 19 th centuries. Lunch. Transfer ti Tirana. Day 1: Arrival-Tirana

Day 2: Tirana

A.M. Leave the hotel for a full day sightseeing tour of Tirana. Visit the National Historic Museum; the Mosque of Ethem Bey built in 1789.Proceed to the Mosaic of Tirana, of a great and historic value. Walking along the main boulevard, you will see the Opera house, Municipality, and Government Buildings. Then visit the Gallery of Arts and the Archaeological museum.Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Tirana-Kruja-Durres

Leave the hotel and drive to the historical town of Kruja.Visit the museum of Gjergj Kastriot Scanderbeg, our national hero, who fought heroically against the ottoman invasion. Proceed to visit the Ethnographic museum, where are exposed folk dresses, objects and other things.You live Kruja by visiting the BAZAAR, where you will have the opportunity to purchase souvenirs, wool carpets, wooden-made objects etc. We continue our programme driving to the ancient city of Durres, founded in 627 B.C. Day 1: Arrival-Tirana

Meet and assist at Mother Teresa airport. Transfer to the hotel. P.M. Drive to Dajti Mountain, 25 km east from Tirana, a natural park in diversity of trees and plants, which overlooks the Capital. Overnight in Tirana.

Day 2: Tirana-Shkodra

Leave the hotel and drive to Kruja.Visit the Scanderbeg museum, and the old BAZAAR. After lunch, proceed to Shkodra. Visit Shiroka village situated on the other side of Buna lake and you may have a coffee enjoying the panoramic sight on the bars near the lake. Lunch at a local restaurant.Overnight in Shkodra.

Day 3: Shkodra-Thethi- Bajram Curri

Leave the hotel and proceed visiting the wonderful picturesque Alpine village of Thethi. Proceed to Tropoja by taking the ferry boat at Koman Lake to Fierza through the river Drini, with the high Rocky Mountains which makes the landscape very attractive and then the follow the valley of Valbona, the Bujan village and you arrive in Bajram Curri.

Day 4: Bajram Curri-Valbona

Leave the hotel and visit the local historical museum, which presents materials and objects that present the history of the region. Then drive to Valbona village enjoying during the route the picturesque spring of the Vrella e Shoshanit, the beauty of Dragobi village, and further is a beautiful Lake, feed by Valbona River. The magnificent scenery of the blue and green colored lake reflecting the vegetation around and the majestic high Alps on the background will surprise you. Also very surprising is the contrast between the very high shaped mountain and the valleys between them. Dinner and overnight in Valbona village, and get a nice experience as guests in the private houses of Valbana village to enjoy their hospitality, and the characteristic foods of this district.

Day 5: Valbona-Peshkopia


Morning departure for Peshkopi, a mountains town situated in the northeast of Albania.You wills se the Korabi Mountain (2751m) the highest peak in Albania and then visit Lura with its attractive glacial lakes famous for their natural beauty, especially the flowers one. Lura Mountain, with nice beech trees, climbs up to a height of 1600-1700 meters. Overnight in Peshkopia



Day 6: Peshkopia-Tirana

Leave the hotel and drive to Tirana
Late afternoon, relax by breathing the fresh air near the greens surroundings of National park. Overnight in Tirana.

Day 1: Arrival-Tirana

Appointment and pick up from Mother Teresa Airport to the hotel.
Overnight in Tirana.

Day 2: Tirana

Departure from hotel and sightseeing in Tirana. Visit at the National Historic Museum, at the mosque of Ethem Bey built in 1789. Next to the mosque stands the clock tower, 35 m high, built in 1830. Then we will see together the mosaic of Tirana of great historic value. While walking on the big boulevard you will see the House of Opera, the municipality, the buildings of government, the International Cultural Center as well as other important institutions. Then we are going to visit the Gallery of Arts and the Archeological Museum. In the afternoon: stroll around the National Park, at its artificial lake and to the amphitheatre enjoying the fresh air and the greenness. Dinner and overnight in Tirana.

Day 3: Tirana-Kruja-Durres

We leave the hotel and make our way to the historic city of Kruja. Visit to the museum of Gjergj Kastriot Skënderbeu, our national hero, who bravely fought against the ottoman occupation. The tradition of the area will be presented to you at the ethnographic museum. You can have a cup of coffee or lunch at a traditional restaurant in the old bazaar and enjoy the delicious specialties of the area. After visiting the old bazaar where you will have the chance to buy souvenirs, woolen carpets, wooden objects etc. you will leave Kruja. We go on with our program and move on to the old city of Durrës found in 627 BC. Today Durrës is one of the biggest cities and harbors in Albania. Visit to the castle of the city and to the amphitheatre full of archeological objects. Afternoon break at the beach in one of the coastal bars. Dinner and overnight in Durrës.

Day 4: Durres-Elbasan-Pogradec

After breakfast at the hotel we leave for Pogradec. We make a stop in Elbasan the location of the antique city of Skampa built in the 1st cent. BC. Visit at the castle of town, at the Turkish baths and then move on to Pogradec along the famous and ancient street VIA EGNATIA. Arrival at the beautiful city of Pogradec at Ohrid Lake in southeastern Albania. The lake stands out for its spotted lake trout. Our visit goes on to Drilon one of the most beautiful and most visited sites for natives and foreigners. Overnight in Pogradec.

Day 5: Pogradec-Korca

After breakfast we leave for Korça also called the threshold of Albanian culture. Visit at the Museum of Mediterranean Arts where works of different painters are exhibited. Our visit goes on to the archeological museum of town where you can find out that Korça is one of the richest archeological sites of the country. Korça stands out for its art of cuisine, for handicraft like carpets, small fury carpets etc. Overnight in Korça.

Day 6: Korca-Voskopoja

After breakfast we leave for the village of Voskopoja, 1000 m above sea level, offering you a wonderful landscape. Voskopoja is known as one of the most famous art and science centers since 14-th cent. Visit to the 8 remaining churches from 24 all in all that was built in 16-th and 18-th cent. Highly interesting is also the monastery of St. Prodhoni where you can see valuable works of famous painters and sculptors, which have also been exhibited in Hungary, Austria and Slovenia. Back to Korça. Overnight in Korça.

Day 7: Korca-Permet-Girokastra-Saranda

After breakfast at the hotel we move on to Gjirokastra. On our way we stop by in Erseka, Leskovik and Përmet. Përmet stands out for its beautiful folksongs with clarinet and for its old history. Arrival in Gjirokastra. The first tracks of the city are found in the first cent. BC. We go on visiting the castle of the 4-th cent. And then we visit the church of the Varosh quarter, which goes back to 1776 and was rebuilt in 1883. The church is located in the old bazaar where you can go into the shops of the narrow lanes to buy souvenirs. We are going to have a traditional lunch with cooking specialties of the region. Late in the afternoon we travel on to Saranda. Stop by the village of Mesopotamia where you can see a church of outstanding architecture belonging to the 11-th cent. We travel on to Saranda. Overnight in Saranda.

Day 8: Saranda-Butrint

Departure from hotel to Visit in Ksamil with its rocky beaches and then travel on to Butrint. Afternoons break for relaxation. You can visit a wonderful tourist spring called "The blue eye" which came into being from undersurface springs and have a cup of coffee while listening to the legend of this attractive petit site. Overnight in Saranda.


Day 9: Saranda-Vlora-Tirana

We leave the hotel and move on to Tirana along the Albanian Riviera. During our travel you will have the chance to see the church of the Holy Mary with attractive wall paintings from the Middle Ages in Dhërmi while in Vlora we will see together the mosque of Muradie built in 1542. Overnight in Tirana.

Day 10: Tirana-departure

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Rinas airport.
